Art on your wall

Want to see how a painting will look on YOUR wall? Now you can, with the App for iPhone and Android.

Do you like a painting, but want to do a test-hanging to make sure it fits with your interior? The app offers an easy way to preview a painting in-place on your own wall, to scale.

How-To Visualize a Painting on Your Wall with the App:

  • 1. Print the target marker and hold or attach it where you want to beam the artwork to. Get marker here. (You can also print the target from inside the App if you can print from your device.)
  • 2. Download and install the "ArtBeamer" app from the Apple App Store or Android Play Store.
  • 3. Enter the Gallery's shortcode: 016090.
  • 4. Press "Beam", position yourself approx. 5ft (1.5m) in front of the printed target marker and point your camera at it. By using the Target print-out, you can freely move around and inspect the artwork with augmented reality at different angles.

How-To For those without a Printer:

  • 1. Download and install the "ArtBeamer" app from the Apple App Store or Android Play Store.
  • 2. Enter the Gallery's shortcode: 016090.
  • 3. Press "Beam", position yourself approx. 8.2ft (2.50m) from the wall.

Having trouble?
Tips for scaling the painting on your wall:

Using the Target:
On your wall, start about a foot or two away with your phone facing towards the ground and slowly raise your phone and aim it center with the target. Then the painting should scale properly, then you can slowly move back the recommended 5 ft (1.5m) to get an accurate idea of what the painting will look like on the wall.

With or Without the Target:
If you lose the scale size while you are moving you should be able to get it back by taking a few steps forward and facing your phone at the ground again and then slowly raising it until it is centered with the artwork.
